Highway 99 northbound overnight closures planned in Delta

CANADA, August 20 - Drivers are advised to expect overnight delays on Highway 99 in Delta on Friday, Aug. 21, 2026, and Saturday, Aug. 22, 2026, as crews install the remaining bridge girders for the 78th Street Overpass.

Work will require overnight northbound lane closures on Highway 99 between Highway 91 and Highway 17. The northbound lane closure will be in place overnight from 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 21 until 5 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 22, and from 8 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 22 until 5 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 23.

During the closures, all northbound traffic, including commercial vehicles, will be detoured via Highway 91 and Highway 17. Highway 99 southbound will remain open.

Drivers should plan for additional travel time on Highway 99, Highway 91, Highway 17, Ladner Trunk Road and surrounding roads during the work.

Travellers are reminded to obey posted signage, follow directions from traffic-control personnel and use caution when travelling through construction zones.
