Trump Announces Death of Alleged Tren de Aragua Chief

(MENAFN) US President Donald Trump declared on Thursday that American armed forces had eliminated Hector Guerrero Flores, widely recognized by the nickname Nino Guerrero, who was identified as the head of the Venezuelan criminal organization Tren de Aragua.

In a statement published on his social media network Truth Social, Trump said, "At my direction, the United States Southern Command delivered a swift and lethal kinetic strike to successfully execute Nino Guerrero." He characterized Tren de Aragua as "one of the most bloodthirsty Terrorist Organizations on Planet Earth."

Trump also blamed his predecessor for creating conditions that allegedly enabled the gang’s activities. He asserted that "before I returned to office, Joe Biden opened our Southern Border to millions of Illegal Criminals," adding that the situation permitted the organization to "rape, maim, and murder American Citizens with total impunity."

Referring to individuals affected by the gang’s actions, the president stated that the mission provided "retribution for them, their families, and their loved ones."

Trump further noted that the operation involved close collaboration with Venezuelan authorities. "This action was coordinated closely with our friends in Venezuela, with whom we are working very well," he said, while maintaining that Tren de Aragua "no longer have safe haven in Venezuela or anywhere else."

The US president additionally highlighted previous measures taken against the organization, including its designation as a "Foreign Terrorist Organization" and the removal of what he described as "thousands of evil criminals" from the United States.
