SpaceX Advances Starship Testing

(MENAFN) SpaceX carried out the most powerful test flight yet of its Starship rocket on Friday, continuing its ongoing development program aimed at enabling future travel missions to the Moon and Mars.

The massive launch vehicle took off from the company’s Starbase site in Texas, USA, and transported a set of mock Starlink satellites as part of its twelfth fully integrated test flight.

The liftoff occurred shortly after SpaceX founder Elon Musk revealed intentions to take the company public, adding broader attention to the milestone.

During the mission, the enhanced Starship performed a precise flip maneuver in flight and later achieved a controlled splashdown in the Indian Ocean near a buoy displaying the Starlink emblem, according to updates released by SpaceX online.

In recent years, SpaceX has carried out multiple Starship test launches as part of its long-term objective to eventually build human settlements on Mars, while also steadily increasing experiments focused on landing accuracy and spacecraft recovery in preparation for future crewed missions.
