Trump Speaks About End of Iran Conflict
(MENAFN) President Donald Trump suggested on Friday that an end to the US-Israeli conflict with Iran may be approaching. Addressing his supporters in New York, he expressed confidence that Iran would never obtain nuclear weapons and indicated that the situation could be resolved in the near future.
"We have stopped them. They're not going to ever have a nuclear weapon. They're never going to have a nuclear weapon. And we'll have that over with soon. It'll be over with soon," the US president told his supporters in the state of New York.
He also made remarks about expected economic changes, saying, "You're going to see numbers like you've never seen, both on the upside and also in terms of cost; you're going to see cars go down," suggesting anticipated shifts in both prices and broader financial indicators.
Meanwhile, an Iranian semi-official news agency reported that a delegation from Qatar is holding talks in Tehran with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, aiming to bring the conflict to a close through mediation efforts involving Pakistan. The report followed the arrival of Pakistan’s army chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, in Tehran as part of Islamabad’s continued diplomatic involvement. This marks Munir’s second visit to the Iranian capital, while Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has also been in Tehran for the past two days, participating in indirect negotiations between the United States and Iran.
These developments come amid growing indications that negotiators are narrowing differences on a potential agreement designed to end the ongoing conflict.
