Iran's Delegation Lands in Pakistan for Talks

(MENAFN) An Iranian diplomatic delegation headed by Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi touched down in Pakistan Friday night for high-level consultations on regional developments and ongoing peace efforts, according to an official statement from Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Ministry spokesperson Tahir Andrabi confirmed via X that Araghchi is scheduled to hold talks with Pakistan's top leadership, with discussions expected to center on the rapidly shifting regional landscape and coordinated efforts to advance peace and stability in the area.

The Iranian foreign minister received a high-profile welcome upon landing, greeted by Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and a number of other senior government officials — a reception underscoring the diplomatic weight attached to the visit.

Earlier Friday, Araghchi had signaled the visit's broader strategic scope, announcing on X that his current regional tour would take him beyond Islamabad to also include stops in Muscat and Moscow — a diplomatic circuit spanning key players with direct or indirect stakes in the region's stability.

The flurry of shuttle diplomacy comes amid heightened tensions in the Middle East and follows stalled U.S.-Iran peace negotiations, with regional capitals intensifying back-channel efforts to prevent further escalation and explore a path toward a durable settlement.
