Russia Slams U.S. Anti-Satellite Nuclear Claims as Propaganda Lie
Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova dismissed the claims outright during her weekly briefing.
"Washington's absurd speculations have nothing to do with reality and are part of a propaganda campaign aimed at discrediting the space activities of the Russian Federation and its initiatives to prevent an arms race in outer space," Zakharova said.
She accused Washington of using the invented narrative of a "Russian threat" as cover to accelerate its own military buildup in orbit, describing U.S. space policy as increasingly aggressive and provocative.
Zakharova insisted Moscow fully honors its international obligations in space and remains a consistent advocate for a legally binding global treaty banning the placement of weapons in outer space and prohibiting the use or threat of force against space-based assets.
